Maw-sit-sit is a green gemstone has a vitreous luster, a light green hue with darker green speckles within the opaque bodies showing even tone and well matched quality for these beads with a 1mm interior diameter large drill hole. Named after the village where it was discovered in Northern Burma. Maw Sit Sit is a metamorphic rock composed mainly of kosmochlor, clinochlore, chromian jadeite, and albite, with small amounts of eckermannite, chromite and other minerals. Kosmochlor (NaCrSi2O6) is a rare sodium chromium pyroxene mineral that is abundant in some meteorites.
